ORGANIZATION CHART

OBJECTIVE

i.Applying forensic engineering methodoly and technology to assist in enhancing accident investigations at the places of work to ensure successes during prosecution of offenders in the court of laws.

ii.Developing and enhancing the capacities, abilities, knowledge and competency of forensic engineering officers.

iii.Reviewing, evaluating and performing research and development activities on accident cases that had been investigated.

iv.Strengthening investigation teams at the operational level in state offices.

v.Applying forensic engineering methodology and technology to assist in enhancing the capacity, application and credibility on the analysis of the evidence from the accident.
 
 
 
 

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SECTION

  • Investigate accidents involving machinery or mechanical systems
  • Specify failure analysis tests required for materials or processes associated with steam boilers, unfired pressure vessels and other pressure vessel
  • Store and update data related to forensic mechanical machinery and material
  • Using computer simulation such as finite element analysis, accident reconstruction, and assisted with forensic physical testing (non-destructive and destructive tests)
  • Serve as expert witness in court
 
 

CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING SECTION

  • Investigates accidents at construction sites and involving engineering works such as building structural failure
  • Determine failure analysis tests on materials, processes related to the sites and engineering works
  • Using methods such as computer simulation, finite element analysis, accident reconstruction, and assisted with forensic testing physical (non-destructive and destructive tests
  • Keep and update data on other types of forensic engineering and structural materials used in construction sit
  • Become an expert witness in court
 
 
 
 
 

PETROCHEMICAL SECTION

  • Conduct forensic study on the occurrence of accidents involving petrochemical engineering failure, failure of plant and process systems
  • Conduct research on the cases of accidents involving chemical engineering to create specific rules to prevent reoccurrence
  • Conduct failure analysis on engineering process systems found in plants such as the parameters of chemical reactions involving the explosion, leakage, and fire
  • Conduct computational simulation such as fluid dynamics of chemical reactions and processes
  • Become an expert witness in court
 
 
 
 

INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE SECTION

  • Conduct forensic study on the occurrence of accidents involving Industrial Hygiene such as working in confined space
  • Conduct research on past accident cases to establish specific rules to prevent similar incidents from recurring
  • Analysis the failures in the engineering process system that can lead to health and environmental hazards of the work area
  • Conduct computer simulations such as finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics for accident analysis
  • Become an expert witness in court
 
 
 
 

LABORATORY ANALYSIS SECTION

  • Manage all the test and analysis requested from other sections or office DOSH
  • Produce laboratory analysis reports and expert reports
  • Manage payment for exhibits analysis
  • Coordinating external laboratories testing such as Nuclear Agency, IKRAM and IPTA
  • Ensure compliance to chain of custody
