BorneoPost Online, 9 January 2015

MIRI: An estate worker in Batu Niah died after he was stung by bees on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Temaga Mit, 51. Miri police chief ACP Gan Tian Kee confirmed receiving a report on the incident.

Temaga’s body has been brought to Miri hospital for a post mortem. On that evening, Temaga’s co-workers sensed something was not right upon hearing the sound of an excavator’s engine, prompting them to look for him at the site.

According to sources, upon arrival at the site, they saw Temaga’s body sitting motionless inside the excavator.

“They found him shirtless inside the excavator with bee bite marks on his body and legs… several bees were also found still swarming around his body,” said Gan.

It is believed that Temaga was attacked by the bees while doing his work at the estate around 4pm.
